Kristi Westberg and I didn’t start Art After Dark knowing exactly where it would lead. Honestly, when we recorded the first few episodes, we weren’t even sure they’d ever be released. And yet—here we are, closing out Season 1.
This final episode is a reflection on wins, lessons, and momentum. Not just the flashy milestones, but the quiet ones too. The ones that don’t always show up on Instagram or in a neat metrics dashboard.
We talked about first licensing deals, first in-person markets, and the feeling of realizing you actually do have more work, more skill, and more resilience than you thought. But we also talked about something just as important: learning to pause long enough to acknowledge progress.
When you don’t acknowledge wins, they disappear. They turn into checked boxes, forgotten emails, or things you “should have done better.” And over time, that can make it feel like you’re not moving at all—even when you absolutely are.
If you’re building a creative business after hours, after everyone else is asleep—this matters. Celebrating progress doesn’t mean you stop striving. It means you give yourself enough fuel to keep going.
As we wrap up this pretty good first season, we’d love for you to reflect too. What’s one win you’ve had recently? Big or small—we want to celebrate it with you.
Thank you for being here. Truly. 💙
